Looking for a fun and messy way to help an important charity?
The Delaware Mud Run, which benefits the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware, will be held on Sunday, Sept. 18 at Frightland off of U.S. Route 13, north of Middletown and Odessa.
The registration deadline is Sept. 10.
The Mud Run is a “mudder-style” 5K race that goes beyond running approximately 3.1 miles. There will be boot-camp style obstacles surrounded by or consisting of mud.
Participation involves teams of four in either the men's, women's, or co-ed categories. Individuals can also register for the race solo. There will be prizes for the fastest teams, the team with the most creativity, and teams that raise the most money for the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware. In addition, each team member gets a Delaware Mud Run t-shirt and a SchagrinGas-sponsored koozie.
Last year, the Mud Run raised nearly $200,000 for the Leukemia Research Foundation of Delaware that enables researchers to make crucial discoveries that will help the medical world develop a better understanding of blood cancers.
