Fresenius Kidney Care will host the “Explore the Freedom of Home Dialysis Education Event” from 5:30 to 8 p.m. May 2 at the Carlisle Fire Co. Grier Banquet Hall, 615 NW Front St., Milford.
The community will learn about how the opportunity to receive dialysis treatment at home can offer greater independence, convenience and health benefits to patients who would otherwise spend up to 12 hours a week in a center receiving the life-sustaining care. In Delaware, more than 1,600 people living with end-stage renal disease are on dialysis.
Local experienced medical professionals will be available to discuss at-home dialysis, in-center dialysis and how Fresenius Kidney Care strives to empower people to thrive on and live the healthiest way possible with kidney disease treatments that fit in with life.
Guests will also hear personal experiences from a guest speaker and home dialysis advocate.
Light refreshments will be served.
