The victim has been identified as William E. Clough, 35, of Hartly
State police are continuing their probe into a Saturday morning crash that claimed the life of a Hartly man a day later.
The victim has been identified as William E. Clough, 35, division spokesman Master Cpl. Michael Austin said.
According to preliminary information gathered by the Collision Reconstruction Unit, the single-vehicle crash took place at about 12:57 a.m. Saturday, Nov. 24 as Clough was driving a 2002 Chevy Trailblazer toward the west on Willow Grove Road. It appears the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed and was on a curve when it began to spin; the SUV went off the north side of the road, throwing Clough, who was not wearing a seat belt, from the vehicle.
Clough survived the initial crash and was taken to Bayhealth Hospital Kent Campus, where he died Sunday, Nov. 25.
The vehicle’s speed and driver impairment are considered contributing causes to the incident, Austin said.
