Wanted: 24-year-old Devon T. Morris

Delaware State Police are asking for the public’s assistance finding a suspect wanted in connection with a hit-and-run in Seaford.

The incident occurred on Monday, October 15, at about 4 p.m. Police were patrolling the Concord area and observed a red Chevrolet Malibu traveling on Concord Road. The vehicle had window tint and a registration check revealed that the vehicle did not have a tint waiver. When the officers attempted to conduct a traffic stop, the driver of the vehicle refused to pull over.

As the vehicle continued to flee, it approached the intersection of Old Furnace Road and Middleford Road and attempted to pass a school bus on the shoulder. The school bus was stopped for the stop sign at the intersection, and the suspect vehicle struck the right front tire of the bus, causing minor damage. No one aboard the bus was injured.

The suspect vehicle continued to flee and was located abandoned near Eskridge Road. Through investigative measures, troopers identified the driver as 24-year-old Devon T. Morris, of Seaford.

Troopers have been unable to locate Morris, who currently has active warrants for disregarding a police officer signal, four counts of second-degree reckless endangering, resisting arrest, leaving the scene of a property collision accident and other traffic offenses.

Prior to this incident, Morris had an active capias out of Superior Court as well as a warrant for resisting arrest and reckless driving.

If anyone has information on the whereabouts of Morris, they are asked to contact Troop 4, Detective Gallagher, at 302-752-3821. Information may also be provided by calling Delaware crime stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or via the internet at http://www.delaware.crimestoppersweb.com.
