Bayhealth Orthopaedics, Dover, 655 S. Bay Road, announced the addition of orthopaedic surgeon John R. Burger.
He joins fellow physicians Melissa Mackel, Trinity Pilkington and Darshdeep Singh in the practice, which is accepting new patients.
The practice is part of the Bayhealth Medical Group, a partnership of trained physicians, their clinical staff and an administrative support team that operates practices throughout central and southern Delaware. While Burger will primarily see patients in Dover, the office locations for Bayhealth Orthopaedics also include Milford, Smyrna and Lewes.
Originally from Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, Burger comes to Bayhealth from the University of Missouri, where he was on an orthopaedic surgery adult reconstruction fellowship. He earned his medical degree, as well as post-baccalaureate certification and a master’s in biomedical sciences, from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed an internship and his orthopaedic surgery residency at Western Reserve Hospital in Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio.
Burger has done an OB-GYN rotation at Bayhealth Milford Memorial when he was a third-year medical student. Married with five children, Burger looks forward to raising his family in the local area.
