Jesse Nichols allegedly robbed an Ellendale trailer

Delaware State Police have arrested a Felton man in connection with a residential burglary after he was found to be under the influence for the third time.

The burglary incident was reported on July 13, when troopers responded to the 15000 block of Redbud Drive in Ellendale, where the homeowner reported that his rented camper had been burglarized sometime between 12:45 and 5:30 p.m. He found the sliding glass door to the camper damaged and the refrigerator, mattress and two large plastic containers with personal items missing from inside.

Through investigative measures, 34-year-old Jesse A. Nichols was developed as a suspect. On Sunday, July 15, around 11 p.m., troopers received information that Nichols was at a party in the area of Redbud Drive. They found him in his vehicle with four bags of crack cocaine (approximately .72 grams), a small amount of marijuana and drug paraphernalia. Based on Nichols' demeanor, a DUI investigation ensued. 

Nichols was charged with second-degree burglary, two counts of theft under $1,500, criminal mischief, third offense DUI, possession of a controlled substance, two counts of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $3,800 secured bond.
