Timothy Safford is wanted in the shooting death of Sylvester Lee
Dover police have identified a suspect in a June 22 homicide.
Dover Police Department spokesman Master Cpl. Mark Hoffman said officers are looking for 42-year-old Timothy Safford.
Safford once had a Dover address, but that no longer is valid, Hoffman said.
During their investigation of the fatal shooting of Sylvester Lee at the Liberty Court apartment complex, police learned Lee and Safford had gotten into an argument before the shooting. As the two walked toward Lee’s car, Safford allegedly shot him to death.
Safford’s current whereabouts are unknown, but he should be considered armed and dangerous, Hoffman said.
Safford is wanted on charges of first-degree murder, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, and two counts f possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited.
Anyone with information on Safford’s whereabouts is asked to call 911 or their local police department immediately.
