Nanticoke Health Services announced that Alina Chisenhall was named director of the medical surgical unit at Nanticoke Memorial Hospital.

Chisenhall will oversee the daily operations of the unit to ensure that quality care is provided to each patient in a manner consistent with Nanticoke’s mission and values.

Chisenhall has worked on the unit for her 17-year career at Nanticoke. She started as a staff nurse in July 2001, was promoted to designated charge nurse in 2003 and then was selected as medical surgical unit manager in July 2012.

Chisenhall is a member of infection prevention, quality and safety committees within the organization. She currently serves as chair of the hospital’s Falls Committee, which focuses on patient safety and discusses ideas and measures to reduce the risk of patient falls. She is also a member of the Delaware Organization of Nurse Leaders and the Delmarva Oncology Nurse Interest Group.

Chisenhall received her associate degree in nursing from Delaware Technical Community College in Georgetown and is currently working toward her Bachelor of Science in nursing from Wilmington University.
