The Air Quality Partnership of Delaware has announced Air Quality Awareness Week from April 30 to May 4.

RideShare Delaware, along with the Air Quality Partnership, will award an Air Quality Awareness 2018 Champion award to a business taking steps to improve air quality. The 2018 Champion will be able to display their AQA Champion Trophy along with their company being highlighted through multiple social media sites and newsletters.

Employers or businesses can self-nominate their work site for the opportunity to be recognized as the Air Quality Awareness 2018 Champion. All interested businesses must complete the AQA Criteria Checklist — available at — and submit to by April 16.

During that week, employers are asked to encourage their staff to try a cleaner mode of travel to work — carpooling, transit, bicycling, walking or telecommuting — and, while they are at it, have someone snap a photo, or take a selfie to commemorate their activity, then post the photo to social media with the hashtag #TryItDayDE.

Employees posting selfies will be entered to win a free gift card. Bonus points will be given to employers whose employees log a clean commute in their RideShare Delaware account.
