Increased police presence at school.
Delaware State Police have increased their presence at Cape Henlopen High School in Lewes after a "possible threatening social media post."
A Snapchat post circulating on social media networks over the weekend featured a teen holding a rifle and threatening violence at "CHS." According to the Clovis, New Mexico Police Department, a teen there has been arrested in relation to the post, but "CHS" schools across the nation are taking precautionary measures.
Today, Monday, April 9, the Cape Henlopen School District addressed the threat on its Facebook page.
"Earlier this morning we were made aware of a concerning social media post directed at the high school," the post stated. "Delaware State Police are involved and will continue to be involved to determine who was responsible. Based on the information we have, there is no credible threat to the students or staff. We will have increased police presence at the high school and will remain vigilant to identify the person who made the post."
