Stephon R. Jackson, of Seaford, charged wtih first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited.

Delaware State Police have arrested 18-year-old Stephon R. Jackson, of Seaford, on charges of first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited. The charges stem from an incident that occurred in the Wexford Village development in Laurel on Jan. 29, in which an 18-year-old male was shot and killed.

On Feb. 23, Jackson was charged with two counts of possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited as well as the two new charges of receiving stolen property and resisting arrest. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $22,000 cash bond but was released on March 4, after posting bail.

After his release, first-degree murder and possession of a firearm or ammunition by a person prohibited warrants were approved.  Delaware State Police Troopers from Troop 5, the Governor’s Task Force and the State Police Special Operations Response Team, along with the Homicide Unit Detectives, coordinated the location and apprehension of Jackson. He was taken into custody without incident in Georgetown. Jackson was then committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $520,000 cash bond.
