Harrington Police Chief Norman Barlow will speak at the Harrington-Greenwood-Felton Centennial Rotary meeting at 6 p.m. Feb.17 at Rudy’s Family Restaurant, 17064 S. Dupont Highway, Harrington.

Barlow has worked for the city of Harrington since 1991, when he joined the public works department. He was appointed public works supervisor in 1992 and was later offered a position with the police department. Barlow trained at the Delaware State Police Academy from November 1993 to March 1994.

He was named Officer of the Year three times, received the Lifetime MADD Award from Mothers Against Drunk Driving and was named 2014 Police Chief of the Year by the Delaware League of Local Governments. Oct. 7, 2014, was proclaimed Chief Norman Barlow Day. The Freedom Park Pavilion in Harrington is named in his honor.
