Delaware State Police troopers are investigating a serious crash on Route 1/Route 113 north of Milford that left one man in critical condition on Saturday morning, said police spokesman Master Cpl. Gary Fournier.
Police said the crash took place around 11:15 a.m. as a 34-year-old Philadelphia man was driving a 2008 Mazda Tribute northbound on Bay Road just south of Milford Neck Road.
The Mazda left the east side of the road for unknown reasons and struck an embankment before overturning and ejecting the operator from the car.
The man, who was not properly restrained, was airlifted from the scene by Delaware State Police Aviation (Trooper 2) to Christiana Medical Center where he is currently admitted in critical condition. His name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin.
US113/SR1 northbound was closed for approximately one hour while the crash was investigated and cleared.
