The state of Delaware’s early shotgun deer season will be held from Nov. 13-21.

During the five-month deer season, nearly 50 percent of the overall annual deer harvest will occur during these eight days, said Joe Rogerson, deer biologist and program manager for Wildlife Species Conservation and Research with the Division of Fish & Wildlife. An estimated 14,000 deer are anticipated to be harvested this year, he said.

Delaware residents ages 16-64 are required to purchase a state hunting license, and a state junior license is required for ages 13-15.
