The Goose 10, a 10-mile race from Slaughter Beach to Milford, was held with 17 runners participating Oct. 17.

The winner, Erik Farinas, was presented with a life-size Canada goose decoy designed by Harold Haman. Farinas’ time was 1:09:55.

The event, benefiting Sussex County Land Trust, was organized by Milford residents Ramsey Schrader, Brad Dennehy, Joe Gannon and Casey Kenton. The theme and mascot of the race was the Canada goose. Each runner was given a hand-carved oyster knife labeled “The Goose 10,” and fresh oysters and craft beer were provided by Arena’s Deli and Bar.
