President Barack Obama’s administration launched the new Every Kid in a Park program Sept. 1.

Fourth-graders can get a free, all-access pass for the 2015-16 school year to all federally managed lands and waters.

The pass is valid for U.S. fourth-graders and three adults or a vehicle for drive-in parks at more than 2,000 sites.

Every Kid in a Park is aimed at inspiring children to discover the outdoors, be active, spend time with friends and family and build critical skills. Students need to visit the website and complete an educational activity to obtain and print their paper pass. They may trade in their paper pass for a more durable pass at participating federal sites nationwide.
