The Milford Police Dept. is asking for the public’s help with information relating to a shooting that occurred on July 17, just after midnight, in the area of Route 113 and NW 10th St., according to Det. Dwight Young.
An investigation revealed that the four people were traveling in a vehicle northbound on Route 113 and came to a stop near the intersection at a traffic light, Young said.
While the vehicle was stopped, a light-colored minivan pulled up next to it and multiple gunshots were then fired from the minivan at the victims’ vehicle, said Young.
The first victim was shot multiple times and a second victim was struck by a round that first traveled through the first victim’s body. The third and fourth victims were just barely missed by the gunshots as the rounds struck the windows and seats surrounding them, Young said.
The minivan then fled northbound on Route 113. Young said the two victims who were shot were treated at Milford Bayhealth Hospital for non-life threatening injuries and later released.
Anyone with information about the incident is asked to contact Det. Young or Det. John Horsman of the Milford Police Department Criminal Division at 302-422-8081 or Crimestoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333 or www.tipsubmit.com or submit tips through the MyPD mobile app.
