The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway will take you high above the valley to the snow-capped mountains. In the summer, the mountain activities are in full swing with guided nature walks,camping, hiking and more. At the top of the mountain, visitors will find Peak’s Restaurant. It offers beautiful views of the Coachella Valley and good food options for all diners. Also at the top is Pines Cafe, a cafeteria-style restaurant,and the Lookout Lounge, offering alcoholic beverages and

The tram itself is an experience. It rotates as you ascend and descend the mountain to allow for all visitors to take in the views of the valley and the mountains. Thefirst tram was completed in 1963. A project was completed in 2000 that added new cars and renovated the facilities. It is known as the world’s largest rotating tramcar system ever constructed.

Since 1963, about 18 million people have ridden the tram to the Mount San Jacinto State
Park. This area at the top of the mountain offers significant biological, cultural, recreational,
