A teenager from Dover was arrested and charged with offensive touching and related charges on Saturday for an alleged assault that took place on a Harrington playground on New Year’s Day.
The 15-year-old male reportedly slapped a 10-year-old in the face at a local playground, according to Lt. Earl K. Brode, spokesman for the Harrington Police Department.
Officers, with the assistance of the Harrington Police Department School Resource Officer, were able to identify the juvenile suspect.
Police obtained warrants for the 15-year-old and the suspect later turned himself into the Harrington Police Department on Saturday, said Brode.
He was released to the custody of his mother pending a future court appearance in Kent County Family Court.
