A 22-year-old Harrington man is charged with first-degree assault after allegedly stabbing his 18-year-old nephew.
The teen suffered a possibly life-threatening stab wound to his upper chest and was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital, Harrington Police Department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode said.
The stabbing occurred at a home in the first block of High Street sometime before 4:22 p.m. during a fight between the teen and his uncle Todd Fisher, Brode said.
During the argument the teen reportedly punched Fisher, who responded by stabbing the boy, he said.
Fisher was taken into custody at the home. He later was taken to Milford Memorial, where he was treated for a minor facial injury, Brode said.
Fisher is charged with first-degree assault and possession of a deadly weapon during the commission of a felony.
He was being held at the Sussex Correctional Institution in Georgetown on a $20,000 secured bond.
