Meet Jo Schmeiser, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce of Greater of Greater Milford

Q: How long have you been at the Chamber?
A: I have been with the Chamber for eight years as of this January.

Q: Are you from the Milford area?
A: No, I am an Air Force brat, so I am from all over the country.

Q: What’s the next big event for the Chamber this year?
A: The 8th Annual Holiday Auction and Tastes of Milford at the Rookery North on November 20th.

Q: What’s taking place then?
A: Our local restaurants and caters are invited to bring their best items, and members and people from the community will have an opportunity to not only sample the food, but participate in the auction.

Q: How many restaurants and caterers will take part in the event?
A: This is usually a sellout, so we will have between 13-15 businesses at the event.

Q: Is this a members-only or open to the community?
A: This is open to everyone in the community. We want to draw people from all over Kent and Sussex Counties because of our unique location!

Q: Is this your last event of the year?
A: No, we have a Holiday Mixer on December fourth.

Q: What’s special about this event?
A: Every year we ask our members to bring items to help less fortunate families have a nice holiday.
Members will bring items, and we will stuff a number of stockings. Then we will distribute the stockings
   during the holiday season.
