A tip about a 4-year-old girl walking alone led to a 34-year-old

Harrington man being charged with child endangerment last

week.

The tipster reported spotting the child walking along Park Brown

Road in Harrington on Sept. 24 to the school resource officer

at W.T. Chipman Middle School, according to Harrington Police

Department spokesman Lt. Earl K. Brode.

Harrington police officers picked up the child and later learned

she lives in the Clarks Corner Apartments, but was being watched

by her uncle, 34-year-old Steven R. Huey of the 100 Block of

Dorman Street, Brode said.

Huey turned himself in to police on Wednesday.

He later was released on $1,000 unsecured bond.
