Aaliyah Davis exploded for a season-high 28 points to lead the Milford High School girls' basketball team to their second win of the season on Tuesday night, over the 7-3 Laurel Bulldogs. The victory raised the Bucs' season record to 2-7.

Milford scored consistently out of the gate, but more importantly was able to hold the Bulldogs to single-digit offense in each of the first two quarters, going up 12-8 in the first quarter and extending their lead to 25-17 after two. Laurel closed the gap after halftime, though, scoring another 17 points in the third quarter alone to pull within one of the Bucs.

But that was as close as they’d get. Milford seized the advantage again in the last quarter to survive the Bulldogs’ rally, and took home a 50-44 victory. Ashley Young contributed 12 points, the only Buc other than Davis to score above single digits. Kaitlyn Reynolds had three points, and Williams, Morgan Anton and Kacie Jackson each had two.
