A back-and-forth battle between the Lady Bucs and the Blue Raiders turned into a blowout as the Milford High School girls' basketball team got revenge for their defeat in the Pat Borowski Classic championship game with a 62-33 win over Woodbridge on Tuesday evening.
Milford's defense came up huge against the Blue Raiders, holding them to six points or left in the first, third and fourth quarters. The Blue Raiders still managed to keep pace with the Bucs through the first half, trailing 9-5 after one quarter and 27-22 after two, but the second half was all Milford. The Bucs held Woodbridge to just 11 points in the final two quarters while scoring 35.
“I think we were just trying to get into the rhythm of the game," Head Coach Kevin Barkley said. "It took us the first half to get our groove going, but once we did, everybody contributed."
Meanwhile, Aaliyah Davis led the Bucs' offense on a game-long tear. Davis scored 23 points, including going 10-for-14 from the foul line. Ashley Young had 12 points, and Janee Williams added 10.
