This Day in Delaware History:
1853    A part of the New Castle and Frenchtown Railway was absorbed in the construction of the Delaware Railroad as the remainder of the old railway was abandoned.

1868    Delaware's Democratic Congressman John Anthony Nicholson of Dover voted "no" on the question of the impeachment of President Andrew Johnson.

1928    Emalea Warner of Wilmington became the first woman trustee of the University of Delaware.

1984    A record was set for winter when the thermometer registered 66 degrees Fahrenheit.
