Greetings, dear readers.

Although we thought the winter would never end, spring has actually sprung, and the Passover and Easter holidays have arrived.

People the world are reflecting on the narratives of their particular religions, and how those traditional stories apply to the world today.

Throughout this week and weekend, occasional churchgoers will dress up in their finery and strike out along with devoted churchgoers to visit local places of worship to enjoy fellowship and hear sermons.

Families will gather for traditional meals, churches will host breakfasts, dinners and other events and area children will experience the joy of searching out Easter eggs and other trinkets at Easter egg hunts held by local churches, schools, organizations and individual families.

Civic-minded citizens might want to take advantage of Spring Clean-Up Week being held from April 20-24.

And many residents will start their annual spring cleaning campaign, throwing out unusable junk, attacking dust bunnies and polishing glass and furniture.

Spring Clean-Up Week will give them the chance to get rid of bulky items that will be collected by city Solid Waste crews.

As you are sorting through your home, rather than throwing unwanted items away, I would suggest spring cleaners seek a local charity that could use such items.

And when you are finished with cleaning your home, do a mental check to see what parts of yourself need cleaning.

Put away old grudges, dust off your forgiveness, shine up your smile, clear the cobwebs from your brain, repair your broken heart and find a new dream to pursue if your old one isn’t working for you.

Spring is a time for renewal and starting over, so why not start with ourselves?
