Michael George Schifferer of Wilmington, formerly of Milford, died Friday, May 22, 2009 in Bayhealth-Milford Memorial Hospital in Milford from injuries sustained in an off road accident. He was 28.

Michael was born on March 11, 1981 in Milford, son of George Joseph Schifferer and Sharon Amos.

He was employed with MBNA in Wilmington for 6 years, leaving to accept a position as a loan analyst with Barclay in Wilmington where he had been working for the past year.

Michael was a sports enthusiast. He was an especially dedicated fan of his local Philadelphia teams, the Phillies and the Eagles. He was a member of the Avenue United Methodist Church in Milford.

Michael was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, George John and Mary Grace Schifferer and his maternal grandmother, Wanda Amos.

He is survived by his father, George J. Schifferer and his wife Jodi and his mother, Sharon “Sherry” Amos, all of Milford; a brother, Lance Perkins of Milford; a sister, Amanda C. Schifferer of Milford; his maternal grandfather, Sam Amos of Baltimore, Md.; and his girlfriend, Nehal Patel of Newark.

A memorial service was held May 25 at the Avenue United Methodist Church Milford.
