Roland Edward Willey, Jr., died Sunday, October 12, 2008 at his home surrounded by loving family. He was 79.
He was the son of the late Pearl Willey Hickman and Jacob Hickman and predeceased by brothers Gene Willey and Morris “Bob” Willey.
Roland was an avid Phillies baseball fan. He was a member of Milford and Harrington Senior Centers, Teamsters Local No. 326 and Moose Lodge No. 534. He was a driver with T.I.E., Masten’s and Red Star Companies, retiring with 35 years’ service in 1987. He won numerous awards including 1980 and 1982 D.M.T.A. Truck Rodeo 1st place trophies. Roland was generous with his electrical and handyman talents for his beloved family and friends.
Roland will be missed by his wife of 60 years, Lillian Willey; his three children, Christian Willey (and Barbara), Daniel Willey (and Lorraine) and Linda Willey-Impagliazzo (and Al); his five grandchildren, Stephanie Prebula, Carolyn Willey, Andrew Willey, Lindsey Impagliazzo and Casey Impagliazzo and great-grandson Zachary Prebula. He is survived by his sisters, Louise Aiken, Joyce Ann Porter (and Eugene)and brother, Allen Hickman (and Sue); half-brothers, Wendell and Bobby Willey; and beloved nieces and nephews.
At the request of Mr. Willey services will be private.
