Elsie Hill Kenton, age 86, passed away Saturday, Jan. 16, 2010 at the Delaware Hospice Center, Milford. Mrs. Kenton was born September 25, 1923 in Rehoboth Beach, Del. the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Baynum Hill. She married William (Bill) Kenton in 1942 and they owned and operated 3 Gables Restaurant in Lewes for approximately 20 years. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, gardening, and spending time at the casino. She also loved the ocean.

In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband Bill (1984); a son Freddie Kenton at age of 18 months (1954); and a sister, Betty Calhoun. She is survived by her children, Eugene and Katie Kenton of Frankford; Janet Swain of Lincoln; Elsie Kenton of Seaford; William (Billy) and Duane Kenton of Frankford; Helena and Dean Pepper of Milton; David Minkwitz of Alaska; and Nelson and Elouise Kenton of Milford; a brother Fred Hill of Greenwood; a half-brother Alfred Collins of Georgetown; a half–sister Mary Holloway of Salisbury, Md.; 23 grandchildren, 32 great–grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter .

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, in the chapel of Short Funeral Services, Inc., 416 Federal St., Milton, where friends may call after 11 a.m. Interment will be in Epworth Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.
