James L. Pase of Milford passed away on Monday, Jan. 4, 2010 at Milford Memorial Hospital.
Jim was born in Thomas, W. Va. on Jan. 1, 1934, the youngest son of the late Jacob and Margaret Pase.

After graduating from high school, he joined the Air Force and while stationed in Germany met and married Inge Pase-Marvel with whom he had four children. Jim was instrumental in establishing the Solid Waste Authority with N.C. Vasuki and Pat Canzano. He retired in 1991.
Jim was a member of Calvary Methodist Church at S.E. Front St., Milford. He was devoted to his congregation and served on several committees including the United Methodist Men.

Jim loved the outdoors including hunting, fishing and football. He loved humor and sending emails to his family and friends. He was always present for every important event whether a recital, graduation or family gathering. His greatest joy was his family that included his four children, 11 grandchildren, and four great grandchildren, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He treasured his four-legged “son”, Teddy, who was his constant companion. He had a special bond with his adopted “grandson,” Brent Jones.

He was preceded in death by his sister Grace Leona Kessel and his brothers Boyd Ray Pase, Omas Robert Pase and Dennis Owen Pase.

Jim is survived by his lifelong love of 54 years, Inge Pase-Marvel, and husband John Marvel of Lincoln and their four children and families: Renate Wiley and husband, Joseph, of Milford and their daughters Jennifer Wiley and her daughter Eva; Kristin Walters and husband Darrell and their children Quinn and Lily; Jessica Wiley and daughter Emma — all of Milford; Denise Roehl of Bethany Beach and her children Adam Burnett of Birmingham, Ala. and Jack and Sarah Roehl of Bethany Beach; Kevin Pase of Milford and his children Gabrielle and Jonathan Dula and Bradlee Pase, all of Milford; Shawn Pase and wife Sherry and their children Meredith and Chad Pase all of Greenwood.

Jim’s life was a testimony of being a loving and devoted father and grandfather. His love, support and strength will be sadly missed by his family, however, his memory will never fade.

Visitation will be held 7-9 p.m. Friday, Jan. 8, at Berry-Short Funeral Home, 119 N.W. Front St., Milford and noon-1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 9, at the Calvary U.M. Church, 301 S.E. Front St., Milford.

Funeral Services will begin at 1 p.m. at the church. Interment will follow at the Milford Community Cemetery, Milford.
