Helen Jean Chorman, of Lincoln, died Sunday, Nov. 16, 2008 at Milford Memorial Hospital, Bayhealth Medical Center. She was 78.

Mrs. Chorman was born in Lewes, the daughter of the late Charles Covington and Lola Cordelia (Tatem) Watson.

She worked as a cashier at Eckerd’s Drugstore in Milford for 10 years, then at the Dollar General in Milford for two years. She was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church, Rehoboth Beach. She loved doing genealogy work and was able to trace her family’s roots back to Normandy, prior to the time of William the Conqueror. She and her husband always had a huge garden and she loved flowers. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was preceded in death by her husband Donald Harold Chorman in 2002, a son Edward F. Chorman in 1999 and a daughter Sherry L. Dennis in 2005.

She is survived by two sons Donald C. Chorman and his wife Joy of Dunellon, Fla. and Dr. James R. Chorman and his wife Anna, of Denton, Md.; two daughters Elizabeth “Bess” Chorman, of Lincoln and Joyce A. Williams, of Milford; and a sister Mitzi Watson Cox, of Bucyrus, Ohio; 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Friday, Nov. 21, 2008 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102 Lakeview Ave., Milford where friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. on Thursday evening. Burial will be in Epworth Methodist Cemetery, Rehoboth Beach.
