Gerard G. Sheridan of Lincoln, Delaware passed away peacefully on Monday, May 11, 2009. He was 71.
Jerry was born in August, 1937 in Scranton, PA, the second child to the late Kathryne and Gerard Sheridan. He graduated from St. Paul’s High School and attended the University of Scranton and received his B.A. from Goddard College, Plainfield, VT in 1966.
After a brief Naval career, Jerry enjoyed a diverse business career beginning as a sales manager with Ruben Donnelly Corp., Honeywell, Inc., and Stanley Vidmar before founding Able Equipment for Industry. He was a member of St. John the Apostle Catholic Church, Milford.
He is survived by his wife of 32 years Mary Jane Brady Sheridan, his son Daniel and wife, Elizabeth, of Newark; two granddaughters, Colleen and Bridget; two sisters, Mary Kathryne and husband Judge Francis R. Williamson, Hummelstown, PA and Patricia S. Larkin, Clarks Summit, PA as well as many nieces and nephews who will always treasure his memory.
A loving husband, father, grandfather and faithful friend, he will be missed by all who knew him. A special thank you is extended to his friends and neighbors. The family also thanks his many doctors and caregivers at Milford Memorial Hospital and Delaware Hospice. Jerry spent his final days doing what he enjoyed best, talking and spending time with his many friends and family.
Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, May 16, 2009 at St. Paul’s Catholic Church, 1525 Penn Avenue, Scranton, PA. Burial was private.
