James B. Adams of Milford died Sunday, Dec. 20, 2009 in Bayhealth Milford Memorial Hospital after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Mr. Adams was born in Milford on February 22, 1949. He owned his own concrete business for 25 years, retiring in 2005.

Jim loved the outdoors, he took pride in his lawn and his flowers and spent summers with his wife and his dachshund, Ginger, at his beachhouse in Bethany. He was a hunter and a member of Ducks Unlimited, and an avid NASCAR fan where he loved to watch Dale Earnhardt Sr. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army 82nd Airborne and served in Vietnam. Jim was preceded in death by his parents James and Beatrice Adams and his beloved dachshund Ginger Ann, who passed away in November.

He is survived by his wife of 25 years Brenda Adams; a stepson Tim Lord, and his wife Laura; a sister Patsy Carey and her husband Keith; one grandson Brennan Lord who was his pride and joy, and many great friends.

Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 27, 2009 at the Lofland Funeral Home, 102
Lakeview Ave., Milford where friends may call noon-2 p.m. Burial will be in Milford Community Cemetery, Milford. In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions to the American Cancer Society, c/o Harriett Dazies, 721 North Shore Drive, Milford, DE 19963. In the memo section of the check, please put: To Support the Rose Colored Lasses Relay for Life Team.
