With the roads slippery and visibility poor thanks to the morning's heavy rainfall, a dump truck collided with a sedan driving north on Route 1 at about noon today, sending the car's only occupant to the hospital with what firefighters on the scene described as minor injuries.

Both vehicles were traveling in the northbound lane of Route 1 near its intersection with 10th Street in Milford when the truck hit the sedan from the rear, sending it off the road and into the highway's grass median. Carlisle Fire Co. Chief Charlie Vanaman said the only person in the car was the driver, a man, who sustained what appeared to be minor injuries. He was taken to Milford Memorial Hospital.

Northbound traffic on Route 1 was closed near 10th Street for about an hour after the crash.
