Woman arrested after incident at Wal-Mart
Karen E. Baker, 48, of Dover, was arrested by Milford Police on Oct. 10, for second degree robbery, first degree reckless endangerment, offensive touching, and shoplifting under $1,000. Baker was allegedly involved in an incident at the Milford Wal-Mart on May 6, in which she allegedly attempted to shoplift several items and when confronted by store employees offensively touched an employee and then fled the store. She was followed by a manager to the parking lot were she allegedly attempted to run over a store employee with her vehicle before fleeing the parking lot. Baker was arraigned at the Justice of the Peace Court 2 and released on $7,000 unsecured bond.
Harrington juvenile arrested for assault
The Harrington Police charged a 15 year old Harrington juvenile with third degree assault and disorderly conduct on Sept. 22. Police learned that on Franklin St at approximately 5 p.m. the juvenile allegedly assaulted another juvenile by causing physical injury. The juvenile was processed at HPD, and released to his mother pending a future hearing at Kent County Family Court.
Harrington man arrested on multiple drug charges
On Sept. 23, the Harrington Police charged Eric W. Hopkins 36, of Harrington with possession with intent to deliver crack cocaine, delivery of crack cocaine, maintaining a dwelling for keeping drugs, second degree conspiracy, possession of crack cocaine within 1000 ft. of a school, endangering the welfare of a child, possession of crack cocaine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Police issued an arrest warrant for the accused after executing a drug search warrant at apartment 57 at Clarks Corner Apartments on May 15.
The accused was located by Delaware State Police Troop 3 and was found to be wanted by Kent County Family Court for failing to appear for support arrears, Sussex County Superior Court for violation of probation for drugs, Kent County Superior Court for theft charges, Sussex County Court of Common Pleas for failing to pay for driving on a suspended license, and Kent County Court of Common Pleas for failing to pay for driving on a suspended license, and insurance violation.
The accused was processed at Dover PD, arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7, and committed to the Department of Correction on a $105,111 bond pending future hearings.
Burglar apprehended
The Harrington Police Department charged William K. Moore Jr. 36, of Harrington on Sept. 27, with second degree burglary, theft under $1000, and second degree conspiracy. On Sept. 3, the Harrington Police investigated a burglary on Harrington Ave. Police learned that the accused allegedly entered into the victims garage and removed merchandise. The accused was located by Dover PD and later arraigned at the Justice of Peace.
Man arrested after fleeing
On Sept. 27, the Harrington Police Department charged Michael L. Colvin 33, of Harrington with resisting arrest. Police responded to East Milby St. in reference to a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, police observed the accused fleeing out of the residence. The accused was taken into custody and police learned that the accused was wanted by Delaware State Police Troop#5 for third degree assault and malicious interference with emergency equipment, and by Justice of the Peace Court 7 for failing to appear for failure to have a license plate light, and driving on a suspended license. The accused was processed at HPD and arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on an unsecured bond. The accused was later turned over to Troop 5 for processing.
Fight leads to arrest
The Harrington Police Department charged a 15-year-old on Sept. 27, with third degree assault, and disorderly conduct. Police investigated a fight on Sept. 16, that occurred on W. Liberty St. Police learned that the accused allegedly assaulted another male subject. The accused was processed at HPD and released pending a future hearing at Kent County Family Court.
Man turns himself in after high-speed chase
On Sept. 29, the Harrington Police Department charged Jermaine D. Dotson 35, of Seaford with criminal and traffic charges after fleeing from police.
On Sept. 26, the Harrington Police Department was contacted by a citizen stating that the accused had allegedly tried to solicit sex. He was observed and when police attempted to stop the accused, he fled in a vehicle at a high rate of speed. Police pursued the accused until speeds became unsafe. Police, through an investigation, determined the identity of the accused. Warrant was prepared and on Sept. 29, the accused turned himself into HPD. Dotson was charged with unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, disregarding a police officer, resisting arrest, driving on a suspended license, five counts of malicious mischief by motor vehicle, reckless driving, sexual harassment, criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, soliciting or requesting sexual contact, six counts of disregarding a stop sign, unreasonable speeds, unattended motor vehicle, three counts of driving on the wrong side of the roadway, three counts of driving off the roadway, three counts of improper passing, six counts of passing in a no passing zone, careless driving, 20 counts of failing to signal, and third degree trespassing.
The accused was processed at HPD, arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 6, and released after posting a $750 secured bond.
Woman hits victim with broomstick
On Sept. 30, the Harrington Police Department charged Tracy N. Lepore 31, of Harrington with offensive touching, and endangering the welfare of a child. Police responded to Clarks Corner in reference to a domestic disturbance.
Upon arrival, Police learned that the accused allegedly struck the victim with her hands and a broomstick while a child was present. The accused was taken into custody and transported to HPD.
The accused was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2, and released on a $1000 unsecured bond pending a future hearing at Kent County Family Court.
Man arrested after stealing vehicle
The Harrington Police Department charged Frank E. Sheridan 28, of Harrington on Oct. 2, with theft of a motor vehicle, theft under $1000, and fugitive from justice.
On Sept. 3, Police investigated a vehicle theft on Dorman St. Police learned that the accused allegedly stole his girlfriend’s debit card and vehicle. Police learned that two transactions occurred and a total of $200 was obtained illegally. The accused was located by Delaware State Police Troop 3 and turned over to HPD. Police learned that the accused was wanted by Kent County Court of Common Pleas for failing to pay for falsely reporting an incident.
The accused was arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 7 and released on a $2700 unsecured bond pending a future hearing at Kent County Court of Common Pleas.
Citizen’s tip leads to arrest
On Sept. 29 Milford Police responded to Northwest 2nd Street after receiving a tip from a concerned citizen of open-air drug sales.
Upon arrival police contacted Kermis Perez, 19 of Milford. Investigation revealed Mr. Perez was in possession of 3.8 grams of marijuana. Mr. Perez was taken into custody without incident. Investigation also revealed Mr. Perez was wanted out of Kent County Superior Court. Mr. Perez was arraigned at JP Court 2 in Lewes and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution on $8000 bail.
During this investigation police also contacted David J. Lewis, 27 of Milford. A check through DELJIS determined he had two active warrants out of Sussex County Court of Common Pleas. Mr. Lewis was also arraigned at Justice of the Peace Court 2 in Lewes and committed to Sussex Correctional Institution in default of bail.
