A 17-year-old Lincoln boy was arrested on Thursday, March 11, after police found a handgun in his car at Milford High School, Milford Police Dept. Cpl. Robert Masten said.
Masten said the department's school resource officer and school administration received a tip that there was a gun in a vehicle in the parking lot, and immediately contacted the accused. He said the student was cooperative throughout the investigation, and police immediately seized the weapon once they found it, and found no indication that he planned to use the weapon, on or off school grounds.
The student was charged with possession of a weapon in a safe school zone and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was released to his parents' custody on a $1,000 unsecured bond.
