43-year-old Ronald T. Hastings charged with burglary and more

Delaware State Police have arrested a Laurel man wanted on burglary and theft of motor vehicle charges.

The incidents occurred on November 21, when troopers responded to the 8300 block of Woodland Ferry Road in Delmar for a suspicious vehicle complaint. Someone had entered the property and removed a disabled van by towing it away with their vehicle. A similar incident was reported on the same date at a residence in the 36000 block of Susan Beach Road. In both cases, the suspect claimed to be the owner of the vehicles and sold them to scrap yards.

Ronald T. Hastings, 43, was developed as a suspect and taken into custody without incident on Tuesday, November 27, in the 36000 block of Bi-State Boulevard in Delmar. He was charged with second-degree burglary, third-degree burglary, attempt to commit theft of a motor vehicle and two counts each of theft of a motor vehicle, felony theft, theft by false pretense, falsifying business records, selling stolen property, criminal mischief and third-degree criminal trespassing. He was later released on $29,350 unsecured bond.
