Elmer Marroquin Recinos was taken into custody for allegedly passing more than $1,500 in bad checks last July

A Milford man who allegedly cashed two bad checks at a city business has been arrested.

Police spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney identified the man as Elmer Marroquin Recinos.

On July 22, 2017, Recinos allegedly cashed two checks worth more than $1,500 at the business and failed to make good on those checks despite the business owner working for more than a year to contact him about the lack of funds.

Officers obtained an arrest warrant on Aug. 11, 2017, and took Recinos into custody Oct. 31, 2018.

He is charged with issuing a bad check equal to or more than $1,500 and insufficient funds or credit.

Recinos later was released from custody on a $500 unsecured bond.
