Gerard Daub Jr., 30, of Harrington, was arrested while already in prison
The former employee of a local business has been charged with 20 counts of unlawful use following the theft of a commercial gas card.
The suspect was identified as Gerard Daub Jr., 30, of Harrington, Milford Police Department spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney said.
The case started in May 2018 when the business owner called police about unauthorized charges on the card, and identified Daub, a former employee, as a suspect. The transactions took place at Shell stations in Milford and Felton; police obtained business records and surveillance footage as part of their investigation.
Officers obtained an arrest warrant for Daub but found he already was incarcerated at the Sussex Correctional Institution on unrelated charges.
Police executed the warrant and Daub received a $10,000 unsecured bond based on the unlawful use charges. He was ordered to appear in the Kent County Court of Common Pleas at a future date.
