Keishae Burton.was arrested Oct. 26

A woman slapped a cell phone out of another person’s hand and then hit them in the back of the head with it. She has been arrested for assault.

Milford Police Department spokesman Det. Timothy Maloney identified the woman as 21-year-old Keishae Burton.

At 8:47 a.m. Friday, Oct. 26 in the Brightway Commons apartment complex, Maloney said, Burton and an individual who had once shared her apartment had gotten into an argument; the victim was talking on the phone with a member of Burton’s family when Burton became angry and slapped the phone from the individual’s hand. As the victim was trying to leave, Burton allegedly threw the phone and hit the individual in the back of the head.

The victim used another person’s phone to call the police, but Burton ran after the individual and allegedly punched them in the nose.

The victim received a minor injury and did not require medical treatment.

Officers also found a glass pipe and digital scale in Burton’s possession during a search, Maloney said.

Burton is charged with third-degree assault, criminal mischief under $1,000 and possession of drug paraphernalia-marijuana related (a civil violation).

She was committed to the Department of Correction in default of a $1,251 secured bond.
