Nikolaih Ray Rivera was arrested Aug. 8
A Houston man who allegedly left an extortion note on a windshield has been arrested.
Milford Police Department spokesman Det. Tim Maloney identified the man as Nikolaih Ray Rivera, 26.
Police were called in when the victim found the note, which demanded cash and threatened murder unless payments were forthcoming. Police felt the note presented a credible threat to the victim’s safety, Maloney said.
Rivera was developed as a suspect over the next few days, and he was taken into custody Aug. 8 without resistance.
Rivera is charged with extortion, theft under $1,500, and criminal mischief under $1,000.
He was committed to the Department of Correction in default of a $9,250 secured bail.
