Bruce E. Lane was arrested Aug. 7
An alleged case of assault and strangulation has led to the arrest of a Milford resident.
Police department spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten said the incident took place at 10:29 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 7 in the 200 block of Northeast Front Street.
The suspect is identified as Bruce E. Lane, 32, Masten said.
According to the victim, Lane confronted and assaulted her and then ran off. He later was caught by police.
Masten said there had been an active no-contact order between the two in place since July 30. Lane also allegedly followed the woman through the city before the alleged assault, he said.
Lane is charged with second-degree assault, strangulation, stalking, endangering the welfare of a child, and breach of release.
He was ordered held at the Sussex Correctional Institution, Georgetown, in lieu of an $8,000 cash bail.
