Police investigating as home invasion

Delaware State Police are investigating a home invasion that occurred early Sunday morning north of Dagsboro.

The preliminary investigation has determined that the incident occurred at around 2:20 a.m. on Sunday, August 5, when troopers responded to the 30000 block of Power Plant Road for a reported home invasion robbery. The victim, a 51-year-old male, advised that someone had knocked on his travel trailer door and when he opened it, five black male suspects carrying firearms and wearing black clothing and masks forced their way into his residence. Two of the suspects held him at gunpoint while the others ransacked his trailer before removing his cell phone. Prior to fleeing, one of the suspects struck the victim's head with a weapon, causing a laceration. Another suspect then tied the victim before they all fled in an unknown direction.

The victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The case remains under investigation and if anyone has information in reference to this incident, they are asked to contact Detective D. Cathell, Troop 4 Criminal Investigative Unit at 302-856-5850.
