The missing truck was found 35 miles away in Selbyville.

Milford police have recovered a missing city truck, finding it several hours after it was reportedly taken from a government building.

Department spokesman Sgt. Robert Masten said the vehicle was discovered missing at about 5 a.m. Aug. 1 from the city Parks and Recreation building parking lot on Franklin Street.

Officers received information shortly afterward the white 2006 Chevrolet Colorado was thought to be in the Georgetown area, Masten said. However, it later was found about 30 miles southwest on Community Lane in Selbyville, he added.

"A citizen in the area found it and called," Masten said. "It was unoccupied. We're not sure if they saw our release or just thought it was odd to see Milford vehicle in Selbyville."

The investigation into the apparent theft is continuing, and anyone who may have information on this case is asked to call Milford police at 422-8081 or CrimeStoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.
