24-year-old Devynne Hobbs, of Millsboro, arrested

Georgetown Police arrested a Millsboro man on weapons and drug-related charges after he was stopped for a traffic violation.

On Friday, July 6, around 9:30 p.m., police stopped a vehicle traveling northbound on South Dupont Boulevard, near Old Laurel Road, for speeding. When contacting the driver, 24-year-old Devynne Hobbs, officers smelled a strong odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. While speaking Hobbs, officers learned there was a handgun concealed inside the vehicle.

A search of the vehicle resulted in the recovery of a 9mm handgun, two loaded magazines, 9.38 grams of marijuana, 15.97 grams of cocaine and $1,992 in cash.

Hobbs was arrested for on charges including possession of a controlled substance in a tier 3 quantity, possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and carrying a concealed deadly weapon. He was committed to Sussex Correctional Institution.
