The southern chapter of The Next Generation of the Delaware Community Foundation raised more than $12,000 at its sixth annual Chowdown for Charity on Feb. 23 at Maple Dale Country Club.

In the friendly culinary competition, Brickworks Brewing & Eats was dubbed Chowdown Champion 2018, beating dishes from competitors The Greene Turtle, Maple Dale Country Club, Chaiyo, FINS Oyster House, Lefty's Alley & Eats, Grandpa Mac, Wild Quail Country Club, Bluecoast Rehoboth and Starboard RAW.

The funds raised will support grants for local nonprofit organizations supporting addiction treatment and family support services. Since Chowdown for Charity’s inception, Next Gen South has awarded more than $72,500 in grants.
