A $21,381,200 referendum has passed in the Cape Henlopen School District.
Numbers are unofficial until the Department of Elections confirms them tomorrow, but according to district representatives, 73.3 percent of voters voted in favor of the referendum.
CHSD enrollment grew from 4,150 students in 2001 to 5,451 students in September 2017. Studies predict the district will continue to grow over the next 20 years. The referendum will allow for the district to build a new middle school and expand the high school.
