Lt. Gov. Bethany Hall-Long issued a statement on a recent report from the Centers for Disease Control showing an increase in opioid overdose visits to emergency departments.
“As chair of Delaware’s Behavioral Health Consortium, I am concerned and saddened by this CDC report and recognize the importance of acting aggressively statewide to save lives and reduce the prevalence of overdoses in our communities,” said Hall-Long. “We must continue to focus on long-term treatment, supportive recovery communities, and improved prevention and early intervention to stop the pipeline of progression. We will continue to make all of these areas a key focus of our work and look forward to issuing our first report and action steps in the coming months.”
