Beebe Healthcare’s Medical Staff presented scholarships to two students at the Margaret H. Rollins School of Nursing.
Angela Gleysteen, of Milford, and Makenzie Lee, of Newark, received the scholarships. Gleysteen and Lee plan to seek employment at Beebe Healthcare.
The Medical Staff created the Nursing Scholar’s program to support the nursing education of eligible candidates in the School of Nursing, which includes the candidate’s expressed intention of working in the community after graduation.
The scholarship recognizes clinical performance in nursing, in accordance with the criteria established by the Students Services Committee of the School of Nursing.
Gleysteen also received the Dr. Carl G. Pierce Jr. Scholarship, which is awarded to a student based on their academic performance in maternal, child and family health nursing. This scholarship was initiated by Mrs. Carl G. Pierce Jr. and her family in memory of her husband and their father, Carl G. Pierce Jr., a physician at Beebe Hospital from 1951 to 1987.
