Bayhealth recently donated funds from its 12th annual Go Pink! campaign to the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition.
Funds raised during the campaign are used to provide breast screenings and education programs offered through Bayhealth and its community partner the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition. The majority of the funds are generated via the sale of Go Pink! T-shirts. In 2017, Go Pink! T-shirt sales raised more than $28,000, and about 4,600 shirts were sold.
The annual Go Pink! campaign concludes with a free health fair in the parking lot of the Bayhealth Medical Office Building. The community event featured information on cancer treatment and survivorship programs as well as free clinical breast exams and screening mammograms for uninsured and underinsured women. About 300 people attended the fair, and nearly 40 women were screened onsite for breast cancer.
